Just grossed $32,175,979 with the
$29,975,979 (5 February 2010) being in the US.
Daybreakers was filmed on the Gold Coast Queensland at Warner Bros. Movie World studios. Staring an array of locally grown talent, and some big international names as well. It seems that the Australian film industry is really starting to pick up and we need to continue to support, for Australian made films.
Although the film as had mixed reviews the toughest critics seem to have been the Australians. We need to keep going, we have a list of great credits behind us, and a bright bright film industry ahead. Keep the passion alive and lets create amazing Australian films for the entire world to enjoy.

Sydney Theater Company Breaks Record

The drawing power of Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving and Richard Roxburgh in “Uncle Vanya” pushed the Sydney Theater Company to an all-time single-day box office sales record Tuesday, with some 5,000 tickets snapped up.

…STC’s production of “A Streetcar Named Desire,” starring Blanchett and directed by Liv Ullmann, opened Tuesday at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Harvey Theater for a sold-out transfer engagement through Dec.

Christian Jeune, Deputy General Delegate and Australian preselector for Festival de Cannes Official Selection (In Competition, Out of Competition and Un Certain Regard) will return to Australia in early December 2009.

Mr. Jeune will be in Australia to view new features and short films that meet the criteria for potential preselection for the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.

In five days and one evening (58 hours) this intensive course will give you what no other course in Australia can do. You will spend 5 x 4 hr sessions with some of Australia’s most respected currently working Film & TV Producers and Directors.

You will also spend 7 x 4 hr sessions with some of Australia’s best known and respected Casting Directors. You will have the opportunity to perform for all of them and receive an instant evaluation of your work.

You will also spend 4 hrs with Melissa Agnew (Phd), who will conduct a voice evaluation and corrective class. Melissa is one of the best and most qualified voice teachers in Australia. Your work load will be huge with masses of work to prepare. A piece and or scene will have to be learnt for each Producer, Director, Casting Director and Melissa Agnew.
