Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz will be joined by Kate Hudson, who has just been cast in the production – Nine, a movie/musical loosely based on the stage show that was a hit on Broadway twenty years ago.
The film stars the impeccable Daniel Day-Lewis, as an Italian director in crisis – mainly over the women in his life. Those very same women come to his aid in fantasy and reality.
Marc Platt is producing the film with Harvey Weinstein and Weinstein Co. Nine composer Maury Yeston is adding new songs for Hudson’s charecter, Vogue writer Stephanie.
Harvey has been working between the Nine set and Quentin Tarantino’s film Inglorious Barstards (with Brad Pitt) in Berlin
The film’s other phenominal leading ladies are – Judi Dench, Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose), Sophia Loren and Fergie.
Filming continues into December in Middlesex, followed by three weeks of shooting on locations in Italy.
