Meet the beautiful new face of Australia! The naturally talented actor from the epic movie “Australia” – Brandon Walters.
Walters, age 13, was discovered at a public pool in Broome, Western Australia, where he hails. At the tender age of six he was battling leukemia, now he features in a A$40 million tourism ****aign linked to the (US$130 million) blockbuster film Australia, telling visitors: “Sometimes we gotta go walkabout.”
Discribed as “Australia’s new young star” at a press conference on Tuesday, he admitted he had never heard of Nicole Kidman before his audition.
…Kidman said “I feel very protective of him, If the film does really well he is going to need a lot of protection”. As the makers of Australia have vowed to protect him from exploitation.
Luhrmann, auditioned about 1,000 Aboriginal boys, before making his decision to cast Walters. It was his natural talent and charisma but also the strength of his family that appealed to Luhrmann…Reports Belinda Goldsmith
