Queensland Feature Film Now Casting

Queensland’s Gold Coast is set to be the filming ground for a new romantic music-comedy feature flick!

…Pictures in Paradise producer Chris Brown and former Screen Australia boss Chris Fitchett, have revealed they are in the process of casting for their new film A Heartbeat Away.

…The award-winning writer, director and producer returned to the Gold Coast late last year and has since teamed up with Brown.…”It’s kind of like Strictly Ballroom meets Billy Elliott,” said Brown.

…Brown and Fitchett made Blurred and Under the Radar on the Gold Coast before Fitchett left to take up the role as head of the Australian Film Commission.

…The pair plan to continue working on big productions, like Brown’s Gold Coast-filmed Daybreakers, starring Ethan Hawke and Claudia Karvan, hitting 2500 US screens in September.

Triangle, starring Melissa George will be out later this year, said Brown.

…A Heartbeat Away, with a budget of $8 million, will be directed by Emmy-award winning Australian theatre director Gale Edwards.
