db0b.jpgAfter months of auditioning numerous actors for the lead role in the upcoming adaptation of Thor, Australian actor Chris Hemsworth has landed the role!Hemsworth starred in Star Trek as Captain Kirk’s father and will also shine on the big screen in the upcoming remake of Red Dawn.

Thor will be directed by Kenneth Branagh.

The former Home and Away star has some solid Aussie role models he can certainly draw inspiration from, like fellow hearthrobs and Silver screen heroe’s, Hugh Jackman (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) & Eric Bana (Hulk).

Thor is set for a May 20, 2011 US release date.
