Australian actor Craig Horner has just been cast playing Richard Cypher, the Seeker, in the The new adventure-fantasy series ‘Legend of the Seeker’.

The series is produced by co-creators Sam Raimi (who also directed Spiderman) and Rob Tapert of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess.

Based on the Sword of Truth novels by Terry Goodkind, the series also stars Bruce Spence as Zedd and Bridget Regan as Kahlan Amnell.

26 year old Regan, born in San Diego landed the role whilst living in New York. She has appeared in Law & Order: Criminal Intent and The Black Donnellys.

“Bridget’s from America,” said Horner, “I’m from Australia, and we’re shooting in New Zealand, It couldn’t be more perfect! Our two characters are from different worlds, put on a journey together….he said in an interview with the NZ Herald.

Casting actors from Australia and New York to shoot in New Zealand is proving that the entertainment industry really is turning into a global market, benefiting aspiring and working actors all over the world.
